Local economic development

TechnoServe actively engages and works with entire communities, often those living alongside already established industries or businesses (mining or tourism for example), to build entrepreneurs and businesses that can, over time, deliver products and services at the required level of proficiency and professionalism.
The key elements of the programme include engaging with community leaders to build credibility and gain support for the programme; working closely with the industry to assess relevant services or products that could be delivered; formal skills training; ongoing mentoring; facilitation of access to finance; and the creation of networks for best practice sharing.
